Promotion
Learning isn’t the easiest ‘product’ to promote – especially if it’s to people who don’t see themselves as ‘learners’. It can be helpful to put yourself in the shoes of the marketing professionals who devise strategies to sell new products on the market. You will need to come up with your own innovative strategies to promote learning.
During the project, you may link in with national promotional campaigns and use these as a springboard to those opportunities your project offers. Consider planning a series of events – a promotional calendar – linking in to a different promotional campaign each month.
Visit www.countmeincalendar.info to see what campaigns are on at any given time. National Learning at Work Day is the biggest annual celebration of learning in the workplace, and takes place on the Thursday of Adult Learners' Week in May. It is organised by the Campaign for Learning, and supported by unionlearn. Visit www.learningatworkday.com for more information.
