Sectors - Supporting Information
Since March 2008 all 25 Sector Skills Councils have completed their sector skills agreements. The trade unions involved in each sector would have produced a document (which may be called an action plan, memorandum of understanding or bilateral agreement) demonstrating how they can help to implement the agreement. Most sectors will now be well on the way to producing sector qualification strategies and workforce development strategies and will be focusing on methods of implementing these objectives.
Bids under this theme should:
- Demonstrate their link to the relevant sectoral document and explain how the project will be of value to the sector skills council and sector skills agreements
- Include evidence of how union(s) will work jointly with the Sector Skills Council
- Outline how the project will develop the ULR base in the sector in order to play an effective role
- Outline how the project will provide support to union officers on Sector Skills Councils
- Consider how unions will work together on sectoral work and develop effective union strategies
